Id like to thank Brick Wall for at long last getting me a contact number for Eddie Campbell. I had been trying to contact him for years to see how him and his family were after so many years. I left the ship in Hong Kong in 1980 and had lost touch. Thanks Again TIGS

Hi All Ex shipmates. Happy New year to all my Old shipmates. I found myself unable to sleep thinking of times gone by and decided to find out about the forcomming reunion. And logged on and found this site and read through the guest book to seee if I reconised any of the names which I did, I joined HMS Coventry 08-12-1981 and was very pround to serve on the ship. I tried to Join it when it was commissined but ended up on HMS Bulwalk. I worked for the Chief Stoker as a fuel tanky for my time onboard and was a member of the Mobil Repair Group during Action stations. I was very proud to serve and be in your ships company for the few short months. I wish you all well. If you remember me and wish to contact me you may also contact mickk@wmtcnc.com I also live quite close to another old ship mate AB Mick Warner who left HMS Coventry December 1981. Almost 25 years after the Coventry's tragedy our memories still remember the victims of that ship. I was a saylor at NRP Almirante Magalhรฃes Corrรชa during the Stanavforlant 1981 and I keep a photo of D118 taken in September of that year. I had another photo but I gave it to a saylor who had served at HMS Coventry until the end of the mission SNFL81 and I met at Madeira Islands (Portugal) some years ago, maybe 16. It was funny because he saw himself at the photo and he was waving half inside the ship's funnel. I am one of the many examples to prove that they never be forgotten. Forgive my bad english.

After a bit of digging about, I think this refers to this story about the Royal British Legion in Redcar wanting to hear from any friends or relatives of John Caddy, one of the crew lost in 1982. A note about this has been added to the reunion page. - Damien.

HMS COVENTRY DOCUMENTARY We have been commissioned by the BBC to produce a 90min documentary to mark the 25th anniversary of the sinking of the HMS Coventry on May 25th 2007. We are very grateful to have the backing of the Royal Navy for this project. We are aiming to recreate what happened that day on the Coventry and to illustrate the incredible bravery of the crew who refused to be beaten. I am hoping to speak to as many of the HMS Coventry crew from that time as possible, to hear their personal experiences and memories of events. If you would be happy to speak to me, purely for background research at this stage, please email leesa@windfallfilms.com or call me on 020 7251 7655. Many thanks for your time. Best wishes, Leesa Rumley

Only just got to know of the site. Brought back a lot of memories. Spoken with a couple of old shipmates tonight and talked of old times. Would love to hear from any of the old Comms department.

It was very moving to see the roll of honour today My father who is still alive survived HMS Coventry being torpedoed in WW2 he was in sick bay and jumped into sea burning with fuel oil and was picked up
