Hi Boys, Congrats on the website.
Don't know if you remember me, I was LMEM(M)Digweed's relief as MEO'S Writer (after STANAVFORLANT).
Busta, Great idea about the ties! Also interested in the Blazer Badge you mentioned. Any info on both would be appreciated.
Damien,
Like the Polo Shirts, I've bought one! Would like a Fleece when available.
My apologies, Unable to attend at Portsmouth in May, but will anybody be in attendance at Gosport in June? I'll be there. Hope to see some if not all this year.
Does anybody have Tony Reece's e-mail address? I've lost it.
All the best Boys
Always in my thoughts

Congratulations on the website. Does anyone know where Keith MacGowan is? He was best man at my wedding to Kev Bishop in 1981. I saw the entry from Chris Eames who also one of Kev's mates. Hope you are well Chris, tho you probably don't remember me!! I hope Mac is OK as well. Sadly Kev died in 1997 and I thought you might bothlike to know - K
If anyone knew Phil Fisher could you please contact me as I would like to hear what his naval life was like especially during the falklands as unfortunately it was never talked about.
David Rumsey,
good to see you on the site.
Hope all is okay and look forward to seeing you in May
Sam
Well it's been two weeks so I've given up waiting for a response from the MoD regarding whether we need a licence to sell merchandise - they obviously aren't bothered! Polo shirts now on sale - click here.
Just scolled through all the pages - remember many names but guess that we would all have a bit of difficulty placing faces - let us hope that as many of us can get together in May 2007.
Dean and Steven Ozbirn - your Dad and i shared the same cabin so do get in touch.
It is unbelievable that 25 years has passed but the spirit is still in these pages.
hope to see you all around May 25th.
Best wishes
David Rumsey
Greetings to everyone. Just like to say what an excellent site you have here - well done !
My links to Coventry are through John (Flogger) Caddy. We spent about 10 years together in Faslane, two of them on the Port Crew of Resolution.
We went back to "skimmers" at about the same time and lived about 3 miles apart near Eastleigh. After that I can remember (just!) having a few beers in the mess on Coventry in Chatham.
The Padre from Coventry (Colin Noyce) also christened my eldest daughter on board HMS Active in Pompey.
We are still in touch with Mary Caddy after all these years, her (and John's) daughter Catherine was married last year.
Best wishes to you all.
Sat this evening with a few minutes to spare so I thought I'd visit the site, strange after all these years to still remeber some of the names and even picture some faces.
Paul Inman, pretty sure I joined the ship the same day as you, I remember well being a bosun's mate at the same time as yourself, and my first foriegn run ashore in Portugal.
Would like to attend the 2007 reunion if poss.
Best wishes for 2007 to you all, to my shame I have not attended any reunions since the late 80,s. It all seems so long time ago now. With some luck I shall attend the reunion in Portsmouth, my son has just joined HMS Westminster and that has nudged my nostalgia switch. Anyone from those times or any one from any other ships I have served on (Paddy Palmer HMY)please feel free to email me and has anyone seen or heard anything of Phil Eastall 3N Mess.
Paul
I will be attending the reunion in May and hope to be in London for the commemorations in June. I think the last time we met up was in Ibiza in 1984, so looking forward to meeting again and of course spinning a few dits.
Take Care
Lee
Lee Thorne and Taff Thomas – where have you been? Great to hear from you after all this time; hope all is well with you both and that you are able to make Pompey in May. I’ll get the first round!
Kind regards
Paul
Happy New Year to all ex Coventry Shipmates. Hope to see you all in May/June.
Yours Aye
Lee
Guys, HMS Coventry polo shirts will be available shortly, pending obtaining a license from the MoD - hopefully that won't be prohibitively expensive!
Also, for those wanting to take part in the events in London to mark the 25th anniversary of the Falklands War, make sure you get your application for tickets in soon. More info on the Falklands 25 site.
I have only just stumbled across this website, did not know any re-unions had been taking place, last one I attended was at the 20 year point in Chats. Hope to be down this year, will see. Anyone remembering me please drop me a line. Yrs Aye
I was only ten years old and living in Coventry when the UK went to war in the Falklands. I will neveer forget the day when I heard that HMS Coventry had been sunk. In a strange way it was HMS Coventry that had some influence in my decision to join the Royal Navy, I heard that a replacement Coventry was going to be built and I wanted to serve onit. In 1992, I was in the Flaklands onboard HMS Campbeltown and it was a cold but sunny morning on the 25thMAY 92 as we placed a wreath over the wreck of the Coventry. Although I do not know anyone who served on the Coventry in 1982, to this day I tell people who dont seem to know much about the War in 82 what the Royal Navy and HMS Coventry achieved. God Bless you all
After my success finding Eddie does anyone know the whereabouts/contact of LRO SOMERS (ODDJOB). I last saw him in Rosyth. I think he ended up in Aberdeen. Grateful for any assistance.
Oh and Hi to Barney Barnham
