Damien we appreciate the time and effort you put into the site and it is a fantastic site, would it be possible to put a Ships Company list together as a seperate page with email addresses posted (not necessarily as a link) so we can get in touch with them individualy if so desired. Malcolm (Jock) Rutherford drop us a line at jdirishrover@yahoo.com

I can certainly do that but my concern is privacy and avoiding spam emails so it'd have to be secure, which means a bit of programming to do and thus it may take me a few weeks - spare time is at a premium these days!

Don't know how many of you read the Daily Mail, there is an abridged version of the skippers book in there today, now I certainly can't wait for the full version. Calm seas, Sam

Hey Joe, no problem. For your info on the Veterans Agency on-line calendar it says the FVF are organising "the Task Force 25 Commemorative dinner to honour the crews & their families & ships that sailed from Portsmouth on the 5th of April 1982 and in support of the FVF". Obviously someone has got their wires crossed, hope it goes well. Yours very Aye, Sam

My wife and I (don't I sound posh) shall be attending the QEII Luncheon along with Toby & Mo, Paddy McCutcheon & his wife and I am trying to get Ian Atkinson and Paddy Palmer to come along. Look forward to seeing you all there. I haven't read the details, anyone know the dress code please? I can feel a trip to M&S coming on...

I shall be attending the Dinner and Evening of entertainment in The Hangar in HMS Sultan on the 25th May to support the FVF's "Project Stanley" but to also honour a couple of friends lost in Coventry. I am thankful that Damiens Dad, and good friend of mine, Paddy Burke survived. Paddy and I are members of the Pompey Irish club and we served together in HMS Sea Eagle in Derry in the late 60's and again in HMS Hydra in 1982 when he joined us from Survivors leave. I spent many a long day working on Coventry's Sonar in 79 - 80 when I was in Pompey Mobile FMG.
Joe Erskine wrote on March 27, 2007 at 01:00
Sorry Sam, I have just reread your post and you were right in a way. The dinner and evening of entertainment on the 25th May in the Hangar at HMS Sultan is for ANYONE, as I said at a cost of £50 per head, in support of the Charity The Falkland Veterans Foundation [FVF] to raise funds for "Project Stanley" ( accomodation in and transport in Stanley for visiting Falkland Veterans and their families on pilgrimages). There is also a black Tie dinner on the same evening at Welshurst Golf Club in Sussex - arranged by SAMA(82)South Eastern Area [SAMA(82)SE] as a local event - at £29.50 per head, but they are not going detract from each other.

Just to correct the entry by Sam MacFarlane made on the 19/03 which is completely duff info. See the Update by Tony Woodruff posted on 16/03. I would like to add to Tony's post and say that ANYONE can apply for tickets for this event which is honouring the Ships Company of HMS Coventry and the Crew and Naval Party of MV Atlantic Conveyor on this anniversary of their loss. To attend this Dinner would be a fitting start to your reunion to honour your comrades "Still on Patrol". Well done Tony, I hope you fill a few tables, but dont hang about they will be snapped up.

I was going through an old scrap book of press cuttings from 82.Pictured on the front flight deck of QE2 holding boards/banners as we come in Southampton from 3Q/3F are the following: Smudge B, Taff Thomas, Stu Stewart(LS), Bing Crosby, Pansy Potter, Jock Stewart(AB,) Spider Webb, Geoff Cook. Has anyone seen them- in touch with them?- it would be good to see them in May. Also on the pics - names i've seen on the website- Lee Thorne,Simon Rouse,Paul Inman,Paddy Casey,Sid Sudworth,Eddie Campbell,Toby Owen,Wally Walter and yours truly. I remember making one of the banners on those crisps white QE2 bed sheets! regards to all ex-Cov's Mick Daniels (Jack)
