Will be thinking of you all on the 25th, and on Sunday. I will raise a glass to those on patrol, and those shipmates who have recently joined them.

Gavin, I think your offer is wonderful and I'm sure all the ex-Coventry's will much appreciate your efforts for us and especially for those still on patrol. It may be an idea to contact the Captain, David Hart-Dyke, his email is on this site but it is dhartdyke@tiscali.co.uk he may have some thoughts. Thankyou again, it is very kind of you and your ship to think of us at this time. Yours Aye, Sam Sam MacFarlane Radio Supervisor, HMS Coventry 1982

We would like to ask if there is any specific act of remembrance you would you would like us to conduct. Our ME dept have refurbished the cross for the occasion and our CO will also attend the service ashore. Yours Gavin

I've just finished reading the skippers book and found it hard to hold back the emotion at times, what memories!. As I'm now living in Oz I won't be able to make the 25th anniversary reunion but I'll be thinking about everyone and in particular the day in May 1982 when we lost 19 good friends. I'll be raising a glass tomorrow for everyone. Have a great reunion guys.

Just a quick email to confirm that the drama documentary about HMS Coventry is now showing at 9pm on BBC2, on Friday 1st June. The film is called Sea of Fire and is now 60 mins long. For an early review of it, it has been chosen as the Radio Times' pick of the day (page 126). I hope that it does justice to the company of HMS Coventry, the shipmates who were lost, and the memories you all have of your time on board. A DVD will be available after the film has transmitted, however there will be a small cost involved as we have to get these done through an outside company. I hope that you have a successful reunion this weekend and that you enjoy the film when it broadcasts. Best wishes and many thanks to everybody we spoke to in making this film. Great to see and hear the skipper speak last night at his inspiring presentation - IWM(N)- the lights were low - it reminded me of those calm reasuring nightly broadcasts! Good to see and chat to old oppo's- Ginge Crook,Stevie Potts and John Davies. Bob - sorry we did not identify you and fellow Cov's present - i think we may need name badges - it has been 25 years - only the skipper doesn't look any older! Good to see some old names on the website - Harry Harrison and Pansy Potter. see you all soon, regards, Mick (jack) 3Q

Heard the Skipper's talk at IWM(N) yesterday evening which was excellent, and very well attended. Good to talk to the other ex-Cov greenies who were there, and, I'm looking forward to the reunion on the 25th.
