Shipmates and families,
It is that time again when I would very much appreciate an indication of numbers attending at this year's Remembrance/Reunion in Coventry on Sunday 24th May. All details under the Reunion tab adjacent.
To that end, so that I can get a good idea for catering purposes at the Warwick club that evening, can you please send me an email stating names and numbers coming in your party etc. Much appreciated.
Any questions not answered by the reunion dit, please ask away.
See you in May then.
Yours Aye - Chairman
Hi Jack, all noted.
However, I am very sorry to say but as I am out of country at the moment working in the UAE and will not be around to loan out the Standard (even if someone did wish to come up to Lincolnshire to collect it) it will not be possible to parade the standard.
Naturally individuals wishing to attend should be encouraged to do so. I sincerely hope it all goes well.
Yours Aye - Chairman
It is with sad regret I have to inform you of the Death of Roger Newman, Roger served as AN REA1 on the first commission of Coventry's deployment, Roger joined as a Tiff apprentice in 1959, he had a fairly short illness (as these things go) but lost his battle last week. his funeral will take place at 1300 at Stafford Crematorium followed by a reception at The Morrisman Pub in Stafford (almost opposite the hospital) feel free to attend if you can" ........... Thats it! Regards Stuart Turner (Mick Daniels mate)
It is with great sorrow that I have to report the passing of Roger Newman Ex REA1 from the first commission.
his funeral will take place at Stafford crematorium at 1300 on Monday the 2nd March. Family have requested no standards or flowers. donations will be split between the RBL cancer research and Katherine House hospice I believe but that could change. Roger was a member of the Stafford RNA as well as the Coventry Association
Chris & Committee, I have been asked, as shown below, The HMS Coventry Association Standard will also, of course, be more than welcome when the Type 42 Associaton's Welsh Standard is blessed on St David's Day (1st March) at 1830 hrs at the John Pounds Church in Old Portsmouth.
Do you think we may be able to attend with Our Standard ??.
Yours Aye
Jack R.

Rev Martin, hi and good luck in the new post.
Rather frustratingly I have been in Coventry all week on a course and left early day to head back home! - Unfortunately i was not aware of the events taking place otherwise I would have certainly tried to attend. Chris and team it would be good if we were aware of such things in the future where their is the obvious link and like the previous 'Coventry old hands' did with us although not formal we had a good relationship, where we were able to invite them to certain events or on board on anniversaries etc.
Link to BBC news report on event below.
regards and best wishes to all ex-Covs

Just a few things by way of update:
First of all I would like to wish Martin K, (Sin Bosun) on behalf of all of us, good luck with his pending move to a new position down south and back into a true navy neck of the woods; I am in no doubt he will do well there. Of course we will still see him each year at our annual gatherings, I hope! So good luck shipmate.
Secondly, just to let you all know that I am now working on next year's reunion/remembrance day in Coventry. I now have agreement for our church service at the Holy Trinity (1800)and then afterwards at the local home of the Cov RNA at the Warwick club. Once I finalise these details a full agenda for Sunday 24th May 2015 will put up on this website under the reunion tab.
Meanwhile, I look forward to meeting some of you at the Remembrance Parade in London in November.
Any questions - call me.
Yours Aye - Chairman
