Hello to all, I was a new MOD Overseer at Cammell Laird, appointed to stand by V1374 (Liverpool). My first visit to the yard was familiarisation of the new T42. I remember my 45 minute tour of Coventry vividly, with Birmingham on the next berth. I also recall declining the T shirt (Paddle your own canoe) much to my regret today. Your site reminds me how much we lost, and how important it is to remember the sacrifices made. Thank you. Steve Sands.

Falklands '8 day deployment' Developing out of my role as โ€˜bishโ€™ (OCM * Naval Chaplaincy Team) at HMS Drake, plus our chaplaincy involvement with Help4Heroes, In May 2016 I'm leading a group of 12 ex RM & RM 1982 South Atlantic veterans down to the Falklands. The week stay will include battlefield tours, and possible an 'out to sea'(day running) to cover at least 2 sites where Task Force ships came to a final rest. There is a definite plan to visit the Cov Memorial at Pebble Island. There may be a couple of spare places but I'll do a sitrep on that in a couple of weeks time. I would really appreciate any feedback/advice from any '82 Cov veterans who have made the trip back - especially anyone who has organized or help organized it as a group. *provisional planned timings get me back in time to be at the D118 Reunion 21/22 May

Hello, I am Jess Trevarthen, my father is Tim Trevarthen - who served on HMS Coventry when it sank. I admire every single one of you, you are all incredible heroes in my eyes! I am trying to get my dad a book together about the events of his life and how much of an inspiration he is to me! I was wondering if anyone who knew him on the ship would be able to send me a short paragraph about him, what he was like etc? this would be really incredible as it would make the gift for him! I look forward to hearing from you all, please email me them on jessica.t01@hotmail.co.uk Thank you for everything x

This is a long shot but I am trying to remember the name of the ship that picked myself and three mates up out of the South Atlantic about the 20/21/22 May 1982. This was just after the chopper went down killing a number of SAS personnel and we were sent down as replacements. We were parachuted into the ocean as part of a resupply mission and our equipment was damaged due to a parachute malfunction. We had to borrow SLR rifles from the ship. We were cross-decked onto the LSL Sir Percival. If HMS Coventry was the ship that picked us up and anyone remembers this please get in touch. Most appreciated. Shipmates, families and friends: It was once again great to meet and chat with lots of you during our recent gathering in Coventry for the 2015 Service of Remembrance and Reunion. As current Chairman I was very pleased with the turnout and support from all directions, from the Mayor's office, Coventry SCC and of course from the team at the HT Church and the local Coventry RNA - Great support BZ to you all. Now on to next year, it was decided by popular vote that we will hold the Reunion at 1700 on Sat 21 May 2016 at the GIs Ass Whale Island and then the Remembrance on the following Sunday morning 22 May mustering at around 1000 or so. Full and final details will of course be placed on the reunion tab in the months to come. Meanwhile I will try and get some pics up on the website so watch this space. Take care one and all Yours Aye - Chairman
