Shipmates, families and friends of D118 -
It was once again great to meet with many of you this past weekend in Portsmouth where had time to tell dits and raise a glass to sink a tot to our shipmates left on patrol 34 years ago. Also to hold our annual service of Remembrance in Old Portsmouth on Sunday morning.
Once again it was a splendid turnout and the weather was very kind to us as we paraded along Old Portsmouth sea wall to the memorial site where our moving and respectful act of remembrance took place.
So, for now, please monitor this website for future news of next year where we return to Portsmouth for the 35th year anniversary for both our own gathering and the Gosport event over weekend of 20/21 May 2017.
Finally, I will be raising my tot glass this evening the 25th May in memory of my shipmates past and present, Sandy Bottoms!
Take care one and all
Chairman
My thoughts are with the family and friends of those shipmates we left on patrol.
I'll be raising a glass or maybe two this evening as I have that peaceful moment reflecting back on all these years.
Calm seas to all
Toby Owen
Stephen Dawson.
Always in our thoughts.
Will be thinking of you all on another anniversary of the loss of your gallant crew members, and too all those who still bare the scars of that fateful day.
Mike Green, ex RO1(G) HMS Broadsword.
So so sorry I could not be with you all this year, fingers crossed for next year. Hope the day went well, I was thinking about you all. Stay safe. Trev
Thank you once again for organising the Coventry reunion weekend, so glad we could make it down to Portsmouth.
Hopefully we will get to see you all again next year.
My thoughts are with you all on this day of rememberance. Will be raising a glass out to sea on Wednesday. God Bless all.
Fair winds and calm seas to the Heros that didn't come home. Thinking of you all at this time. I am going back in November, first time since, I'm hoping to visit the Cov memorial.

Shipmates, families and friends...
Just to let you all know, I once again attended this years SAMA82 AGM and Gala Dinner over this past weekend in Doncaster, the highlights of the AGM I intend to brief quickly at our forthcoming reunion on 21 May. However, just to let you all know that I was asked by the North East SAMA82 rep if we could parade our Coventry standard at the annual FI Merchant Navy Task Force Service and Parade which take place next Sunday on 17 April in Hull.
Very short notice but I will go and take part as they are laying wreaths for all the ships we lost so this includes Coventry of course, they have asked me to lay that one.
My wife Margaret will attend with me, and it is short notice, but if anyone in the immediate area wishes to join us then please feel free to do so. It all starts at 1330 in the Holy Trinity Church, HULL.
Any questions please call me or email.
Yours Aye - Chairman

Dear shipmates, families and friends of HMS Coventry D118....
It is that time of year when I would appreciate an indication of how many are intending to attend at this year's reunion/remembrance gathering in Portsmouth on the weekend of 21/22 May. As usual all details are on the reunion tab adjacent.
In order for me to sort security and catering at our usual venue of the GIs Association can I ask that you drop me an email confirming you are coming and any others (by name) in your group.
email to: cahowe500@gmail.com
I very much look forward to seeing many of you again on the 21st at Whale Island, meanwhile take care and stay safe.

Joyce's brother Gerald Glover served on D118 until just prior to her deployment to the Faulklands, Gerald passed away in Autum 2014 but Joyce has found a couple of photos and a couple of newsletters, if you would like copies for your site I can on her behalf scan and send them to you. Regards Pam
Sad news indeed to learn of shipmate Macs passing, as Mark has already suggested, I will be remembering Mac and others at our gathering in May.
