hi. ship mates. i would like to add a belated tribute to the late great malcome ' yorkie' burton. I recently re-made contact with yorkie about 2 years ago and frequently chatted to him via email. Not only was he an ex shipmate and a fellow yorkshireman, he was also a true friend. i have many fond memories of yorkie, as i am sure you all have. he wil be sadly missed, but if he were to send us all a message now, it would probably be on the lines of...'dry yer tears and stow yer tits' such was his sese of humour....Yorkie mate, i'll si thee ont tuther side mate.R.I.P. If any one has Yorkie's brothers contact details (Graham Burton from Barnsley) would they please forward to me email address. I worked with Graham in Barnsley during the 90's. Plus....Steve 'boris Overall, please get in touch Best regards to each and every one of you 'chats'

Currently serving onboard HMS Cornwall, tied up in Dubai directly behind the QE2, brought back fond memories. Going onboard before sailing to have another look around, will think of you all and the time we spent onboard. Do any of the old Cov's live in Dubai now, would be great to catch up. Drop me a line or call me on 0044 7923457237. Thanks, Trev

"Yorkies" Memorial Service was on Wednesday on Peoria. It was a lovely cermony and he was well sent off. His time on the Coventry was highlited and his love for his shipmates as well.I am so sorry I didn't know about this website sooner, I would have let you all know how he was doing. I can see that you were really trying to get in touch with him. Obviously there were "problems" with his POA, enough said there. We miss him terribly, thank you all for your kind comments, many were read at his service. Denise, Cameron and Greyson Burton. PS Malcolm Rutherford will you please email me?
