Yorksโ€ฆMy old shipmate from the Blake as well as the Coventry. I will miss you mate, I was looking forward to seeing you again over the next few years โ€“ sadly that will never happen now. I will always remember you as a good laugh, and a professional RP who always had the right answer. Rest in peace my old friend.

Just had a call from Jock Rutherford about Yorkie's passing. My condolences to his friends and family - he was a great guy, shipmate and friend. We shared a liferaft in the South Atlantic on 25th May 1982. Rest In Peace, Yorkie, and if there's a pub in heaven have a cold one with our other shipmates

I know that he was a Wpns electrical mechanic, don't know what rate/rank i'm afraid, i know he lost some close friends that day as you all probably did but i've been told he was cleaning the deck or guns or something the day the rocket hit where he normally worked! Thanks for your reply. simon
