I served on the Coventry during the Falklands, LRO (G). I visited this site for the first time recently, and of course the memories come flooding back. Lots of names I recognised, and lots I didn't! But none the less, it was a sharp reminder of some harrowing times. I suppose like any life changing event, it will always stay with us. Anyone interested in contacting, to spin some dits, then please do so. Hello to all old buddies, and respect to those who did not make it.

Not much response regarding Cov Cathederal as a possible reunion. (In fact, none!!) So I have binned it. I take it all would be happy with a similar thing to last year, get together with a few beers, the weekend before the 25th??

With regard to a reunion in Coventry next year. I have had a reply from he Deanโ€™s representative at Cov Cathedral regarding the service on 22 May next year. I am told that they would be delighted to involve us in the service that day if we wish. So, before go any further, is this what we want? Or would people who want to meet up again, rather just meet again in Portsmouth like we did this year. Going to a Cathedral might not be everyoneโ€™s cup of tea I know, but the offer is there for us, should we want it. Can you let me know what you would like to do. Rocky

As the May '04 reunion seemed to go down so well, and as we talked about all meeting again next year, this posting is to kick things off a little. That is, if you all happy for me to plan it !! We talked in May about going to Coventry, and holding some sort of service at the Cathederal. I EMailed the Cathederal a month or so ago and got no reply. I am going to try again, but in the mean time, please EMail me or post on this site with your ideas or suggestions on what we can do. Barny and Steve (Boulders), you will both get to this one I am sure, I'll get the round in !! Looking forward to hearing back from everyone who is up for it. Rocky

It's 22 years which is a lifetime ago, but some things are as fresh as if they happened yesterday. I love the site.It brought back so many memories. I seem to have a photo not included (taken from a liferaft) so if anyone wants it please drop me an email and I'll scan it over. Or tell me how to post it on the site.
