Ship mates. I'm struggling to say something but, you should know that I think of you every day - but even more so today.
I havenโt made the reunion for the last few years but like you all you don't forget. Iโm at my desk this morning and just stopped the 'busyness' of my life to pause & rememberโฆ.Looking out of the office window remembering that sunny still evening 23years ago, how all our lives changed so quickly. I will not forget the nineteen of our shipmates that never came home and I know that many of the 1982 Coventry veterans are do just the same as me today.
"We will remember them"
Twenty three years sounds like an eternity ago. It still feels like yesterday.
Stephen, you are loved and missed as much as ever.xxxx
Very many thanks Rocky for yet another successful weekend. We partied; we talked, we remembered โ least we should never forget. Great to see again some first-rate mates. I salute you all. An emotional weekend but one I wouldn't have missed. Stevie, even without the hair you havenโt changed (still nagging me), a moving reunion, a mate for life. Great to see you after so long Paul (23 years) and no different. If you're up for it next year I'll show you how it's done..hic..! Yorkie you old dog, you havenโt changed a bit (apart from that god-awful accent), take care buddy. Buster, mate, need I say more. A big thank you to Nobby Northeast, an excellent decision in the venue on Saturday night. We must have been the youngest group there..ha..ha (even you Tony). Simon, it was good to talk mate. Sunday was a time for us all to reflect as will be tomorrow when my thoughts will be with you all. God bless to those still serving.
Topsy

Guy's,
Thankyou all for an excellent weekend. It was great to see so many old faces - most of you have not changed. Billy Barnham what happened to the blonde New Romantic hair style?
I have identified a training need which came to light on Saturday night whilst in the company of Topsy Turner - Topsy I will practice my drinking in order that I am able to keep up with you next year shippers.
Thankyou all once again for an excellent weekend, special thanks to Rocky for getting it all together; Marthas was an experience in it's self?
Hope to see many more of you next year. Goodluck lads. My thoughts will be with you all on the 25th.

One for your diary. Gosport Borough Council is giving the Freedom of the Borough to all Falklands veterans on 24th August. It would be great to see some Ex Covs there.

johnno i want to be there this year, finances are tight here in germany.but im still hoping.
OK:
Something I need to sayโฆ
Rocky โ thank you for keeping this together, there are a few of us here in the USA who cannot get back every year. Trust me, all of us appreciate the fact those who are still on patrol are remembered.
Steve Walker the other Yorkie mentioned he will be there too! Need to get Dougie Douglasโs sorry butt back home. I met him and his wonderful wife on my last visit to Tampa Bay โ What a lucky shipmate! He was on the Royal Yatch for many years afterwards โ nuff said!
It is strange that many forget the Falklands back in 1982 โ All of the Americans I deal with daily have no clue whatsoever about the Falklands. Heck most donโt even know where Alaska is! So what is the point? Well itโs simpleโฆ
We Lived Together, We Fought Together, We Bled Together, We Never Forget.
Your Aye.
Dicky (Yorkie โ the skipper still calls me Burty!) Burton.
