Great sight and well done to you guys who have kept the reunions going.
Any of you 3P mess party animals going down to Portsmouth for the reunion this year?
I am a privateer 3D graphics designer and are currently busy creating a spaceship for the game Freelancer which I want to publish on the gameโs website as a free download, I want to ask for permission to name the ship HMS Coventry and to dedicate the ship to the memory of the sailors who lost their lives the day Coventry went down. If anyone has the rights to grant me permission or know who I can contact to ask for permission, please reply to this entry or e-mail me at njpgrobler@yahoo.com
Great to see you have a site. I was on the Broadsword and watched from the bridge wing as we were both attacked and the subseqent sinking of your fine ship. Memories and images from that day have always remained and I have felt nothing but pride at having been associated with two such fine ships.

Reunion 2005. Just to inform newcomers to this site, and let everyone know that the Cov Reunion 2005 will be going ahead for the weekend 20 - 22 May. The plan remains pretty much the same as last year, as this was so well received. An informal get together to remember a very happy ship, and absent friends. Friday: Home Club 19:00 (ish). Saturday: Home Club 12:00 and again at 19:00.
Sunday: 10:45 for a short informal ceremony, wreath laying and at 11:00 a two minute silence. Then to the Still and West. The memorial is the one in Old Portsmouth. For more info, see the Reunion section of this site, or contact me on the supplied EMail address.

nice to hear from molly. yes i do remember that weekend, also still have the photographs.unfortunately mums making sarnies for the lads we lost, hopefully no ones put vodka in her lemon and lime again or the chickens will have four legs again.
Saw entry from Steve Woolham, would that be "Ginge" Woolham.Still have the photo taken from the weekend we had in Coventry, visited the Wallace Pub few years ago with a friend who had worked there as a barmaid. Do you remember that weekend or the photo?
Have spoken to Tony Reece and Dinger Bell(POWEM Bell) recently and still see Perry Mason a couple of times a year. Have you seen or keep in touch with anybody?
Live up North now since leaving mob sadly don't get to any reunions any more.
Often think about what people from 3P Mess are doing.
Nice to see another name I recognise.
Bit late for Happy New Year but best wishes to all ex Cov and their families

Happy New Year one and all โ reading the e-mails brings back many names from the past (I remember Billy Barnham, I was his Bosuns Mate for a couple of months) and of course Jack Daniels; anyone know what happened to Jack Warner (Real name Mick)? If my memory serves me right he left the ship end of 81 after Germany etc & prior to our deploying to the Med for Ex Spring Train; also Clive Dunn, Rod Hasler, Smudge (Brian) Smith, Chippy Chipperfield, Eddie Campbell, Joe OโDriscoll โ who remembers the โThe Casual Onlookersโ; any one in touch or in the know?
Jack, to my knowledge Knocker did return from Honky Fid in 80, he returned to the ship via a short stop over in Gib; if my temporary once again serves me right โ something to do with cars comes to mind but I can not recall why???
The latest e-mail reveals that he is safe and well still deploying East of Suez - South West from the Tsunami, bound for Burma!
Best wishes shippers โ see you lot in May!
Paul
