Just to keep the reunion on the agenda, and for people who have not logged on before. HMS Coventry 24th year Reunion in the Homeclub, Portsmouth. Week 19-21 May 2006. A very informal get together, to remember a very happy ship, and our friends no longer with us. There will be runs ashore Friday night, DTS Saturday and Saturday evening, all commencing from the Home Club at about 7:30-8:00 pm (ish). Come along to any or all, as you wish. Wives/ girlfriends (boyfriends?) welcome. Sunday 10:30 we will be meeting in Old Portsmouth at the F I War Memorial for a short informal rememberance service, laying of a wreath and two minute silence. Get togethers in previous years have proved very popular and well attended. So please do come along if you can. Email me for more info. Jim (Rocky) Hudson

Hi! I was on the Far East Deployment, but left 6 months before the Falklands. It was a very happy time of my life and I still often think of it. I have a few photos to upload if anyone is interested, some in Shanghai with the Welcome HMS Conventry banner and some during the hurricane which sank the Derbyshire, somewhere near the Philipines I think. If you are interested, let me know roughly how many you would want. A

Technology has just reached us in Yorkshire and we've now got The web....Would just like to add my name to the growing list of ex cov's...She was my first ship, but only for a short time (7 months)Then on the 25th we lost her and a lot of good friends...I look back with fond memories and try to remember who was who when I read the guest book...So if anyone remembers a spotty wem(o)called Sticky then I'll be amazed..I'm looking to see if I can make it to the next reunion..if so I'll you all there.

Terry: A photo of Davids memorial would be very welcome on this site - he was respected and admired by all aboard the Cov. Are you releated to David?
Terry Hissey wrote on January 26, 2006 at 01:54
I liked the site. David Strickland has a memorial in St George's Church Harrow, I presume his was a local resident. May be able to supply a picture if required
