I attented the service and Consecration of the Welsh National monument to mark the 25th anniversary of the Falklands in Cardiff on Sunday. A moving ceromony in the gardens behind city hall. It has of course the names of your 19 brave shipmates on it
. There was a march past and perhaps as the London banner said they were marching in heaven again.

Morning shippers, first off let me put your minds at rest. The us of either crest is for us to decide and no one else.
Right now to get down to why Im here. I have been and had a look around the Britannia hotel in Coventry with the view to having next years reunion there. It fits the bill very nicely and is only two minute to the Holy Trinity Church. These are the prices for three days 135 per person this includes a full breakfast evening meal each night, a bus trip if we want one and entertainment on the saturday night. Two nights is 115 per person and one night is 95 per person. So now I need to how many would like to attend before making and firm reservations, So Gentlemen its up to you and your good ladies, do we go ahead with the coventry reunion or not.
I ned to now by the end of October so spread the word please.
Clam seas and safe journy.

I belive God loves everyone - even those poor unfortunate "Carrier Types.". Which is why I'm a Pagan. Thanks for updating photo's and stuff Damien, great work. It seems Dougie is moving to Virginia, good luck shipmate, I'm taking you off the "Hurricane Dodgers" list and putting you into my - "May meet a Democratic Senator" list - which is even worse! Busta - my son remembers me talking about you "Lime Green Hair" he's living in Virginia too, I told him Dougie was moving there so keep an eye out for an Elf. Cheers shippers.
Damien, agree with other comment, you are quite correct in the design and we should take no notice of carrier types telling us we do not have respect, what has it got to do with him exactly and I very much doubt he is representing SAMA82. As we discussed at the reunion, the round one is for frigates, the real one is for destroyers. Keep on doing your excellent job, Sam
A BIG BIG BRAVO ZULU TO BILL'PADDY'COWAN AND HIS LOVELY WIFE FIONA, ON THE BIRTH OF THEIR DAUGHTER JENNA,WELL DONE SHIPPER'S,THATS TWO OF US ON THE MIDDLE AND THE FIRST THEN HAPPY HOMEWARD BOUNDERS, JIMBO

Damien by the e-mail address the guy could be a ex Ark Royal rating as the ARK was RO9 why he is getting his nose bent out of joint I don't know, keep up the good work ,say Hi to Paddy .
A few new pics added this weekend - more to come later today.
Unfortunately it seems not everybody appreciates the efforts on this website as I am now being harassed by a user called 'thearkro9' on eBay who claims to be a SAMA 82 representative, who is making legal threats, saying that I'm selling the wrong type of crest on the Cov polo shirts (despite both versions being offered!) and saying I have no respect.
If anybody knows who this is so I can make SAMA 82 aware I would appreciate it.
In answer to Nick Kemp the association is coming along and we hope to be able to send out the membersip form very soon. I think we will have to organise our own web site, to enable us to keep everyone upto date with whats happening. For those who wish to join you can email me on brian_savage69 at hotmail.com or ring 01623479877 and I will pass everything on to steve hunt.
Also how many want the next memorial meeting to be in coventry at the city memorial to the ship.
Just wondering if someone has any info about the Cov association,is there a web site or will there be?
Far East DVDs - I'm doing another run of these to post out again, looks like every single one posted on a particular day went adrift. They'll be going out either late this week or early next week, at which time I also hope to get the galleries updated with a small backlog of contributions that have been sent in.
Jackson was killed in an explosion on board in Malta in March 1923 on HMS Coventry.
His daughter is trying to find his grave as she never knew her father. Any help to Age Concern Christchurch Dorset at above email address please.

Hell there shippers, to answer Pauls question about the ships crest to be used once we are up and running. I was going to have both on the letter heads, but ours for the lapel badges for the gents. If you have any ideas or thoughts on how/ where we can get ties jumpers ect let me know. Im off to look at the venue for next years AGM and dinner on the 21st of september so I should have a better understanding of the price then.
Doc.
Doc,
Regard the association – once things are under way and we are up and running can I assume that we will be using our ships badge for the association i.e. the pentagon shaped badge and not the round variety.
Kind regards
Paul
He, it's my girlfriends e:mail address. Seriously. This is a great site and a tribute to a ship that performed brilliantly down south. I was on Ardent at the time, our war was shorter than yours but we know the same pain. hope your assocation goes from strength to strength as ours does. Again, its all about those we left behind.
A great tribute to fallen comrades. Was too young to really remember much about the Falklands (I was 5), but my dad served on Hermes and my next door neighbour was on Sheffield when it got hit. I raise my glass to all of you that served.
Very shortly Steve Hunt and Rocky Hudson will be sending the application form to this site, so hopefully Dameon will be able to post very quickly, and we will get a good take up to start our association. I will be visiting the Brittania Hotel in Coventry in Spetember to confirm it is suitable for our first AGM next year. Once confirmed I will publish the price ect. So keep your eyes open. And to all those who are still serving pass the word to the shippers from the last Cov.
So keep a look out and I will keep you informed about our head way.
Doc
Re Far East deployment DVD - these were all posted out some weeks ago. I've now had two people who were on the list contact me to ask when they'd be getting theirs. Is anybody else missing their copy? Please respond by email to covpics -at- jetman.dircon.co.uk
Chats,
Congratulations shippers. Hope that Mum and baby daughter are well.
Best wishes
