Shipmates one and all, I have yet again been frustrated by my lack of computer skills, or my inadequate computer, in writing to particular (or is that peculiar) shipmates posted on this guestbook. If any of you who know me and have the same problem, my e-mail address is jwillshar@ntlworld.com

Thinking of you all at sea during this season. You may soon be joined by my Son who has decided to follow in his Fathers fridge. (I mean footsteps) God Bless. Looking forward to seeing you in May.
Some Excellent work here with this website and nice to see so many photos too. I served on Coventry 1980/1981 leaving in July 81.
I had almost forgotton the 'CONventry' in Shanghai. I have a few pictures somewhere of the crew walking on a line of flowers on the Jetty in Shaghai and also the Chinese 'blue' submarine with windows!
I have very fond and very sad memories of the ship but to date probably the best ship i have had
Keep up the memory.
Best Regards

Sorry to bother you but i was wondering if any of you ever see Alan(Jacko)Jackson.
He left the Coventry shortly before the Falklands Conflict.
I met him when Coventry came to sunderland and dated him a while. I would love to make contact with him. If anyone knows him or speaks to him could you please pass my message on?

Vince, hope you're okay mate. Shame you couldn't make the Cenotaph, but I'm sure we'll catch up soon at further events.
Yes, I seem to remember that transfer, I think subsequent flights were abandonded until the a.m when the weather abated.
Memory snapshots are: the weather, the DMEO transferring with us, being given copious amounts of beer and Rothmans, giggling to Kentucky Fried Movie on a large sreen TV, realisation catching up with a few of us and it was time for an out-pouring, scratting around affording me another survival-suit and as Sam has stated, that bloody air-raid warning. In position with towel donned watching Chinese fire-fighters legging it around hardly coping with their BA sets as they were just about the same size as them....was glad when that one was over and QE2 was our next temporary home.
Hope all is well ex-Cov's and here's wishing you all a warm and peaceful Xmas.
Chris - Of course it does mate, I spoke to Sam about it this week, will keep you in the loop, take care mate
