Sorry I couldn't make it guys, work just got in the way. Been thinking of you all all day and more so at this particular time.
Another year and memories still so clear.
Calm seas and a fair wind, now raising a glass and remembering those still on patrol.
God Bless.
Its only 5:30 am states side and I have just had a few beers and toasted our comrades still on patrol. I also toasted you all in the Home Club sitting around the bar sharing your dit's and stories. Enjoy the day as its our time to remember and give a Salute to those who have gone before us

You are remembered - today,tomorrow,forever.
I thought I would make every year after last years 25th reunion, but the reality is we won't always do so. In my case, I just can't come this year, but will be there with you in spirit all day today. Congratulations to George (Jimmy) and Rachel Douds on their 25th Wedding Anniversary today. Anybody got a spare medal for Rachel!! Hope to see everybody soon. God Bless.
26 years and it still only seems like yesterday. I'll be having a few tonight in memory of shipmates still on patrol. All the best to anybody that still remembers me.
Best wishes to one and all.Working today, but I will be thinking of those still on patrol. Raise a glass to you all later.
Ginge,
time done in the mob no vessel to compare to the cov missing you all
I have my keg on standby for tomorrow, I will drink a toast to all. I turn 45 this year and can't beleive it has been 26 years as the memories are still fresh in my mind of lost friends and opos. Tomorrow is our day I will never forget.

Due to financial constraints (I don't get paid enough!) and the price of jet fuel I'm another who will not be making the trip across the pond this year. I'll be having a quiet Sunday at home thinking of you all, especially our friends who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Calm seas, gents, and have a few beers on me.
Shipmates, I am unable to visit over the pond this year, but all of you are in my thoughts... I will take a few quiet moments this weekend to remember our shipmates still on patrol, and think of all the good times we had together, and there were many. God bless - Yours Aye.
I too, have commitments this weekend and unable to make it.
I will be thinking of you all, especially those "still on patrol" God bless them.
Take care you lot, have a beer or three for me!!
Stay Healthy,
Buster
Unfortunatly due to work commitments i will not be able to join you at the weekend. So although i will not be there in body i will be in spirit as we remember our lost shipmates.
Today i was at a Fire and Rescue dedication service at The National Memorial Arboretum and i laid a small wooden cross with the ships name on - and a few words, beneath the engraved names of our lost shipmates on the National Memorial.
For those who have not yet made the trip - well worth a visit. What is pleasing is that all our 19 shipmates are listed alphabetically together - THEIR NAMES LIVETH FOREVERMORE.
Regards & best wishes to all ex-cov's

Vote results.
Votes received total 35. Of this, 13 count for an association. 21 people voted to leave things as they are. One person did not express a preference.
A number of people made a variety of comments both for and against. These may be of interest, so I will bring these along with me for the weekend, omitting originators names.
The majority therefore expressed an opinion against an Association. Where we go to from here will be discussed over the weekend. We will still hold a meeting at the Home Club Saturday 6PM. All welcome.
Folks, just to keep this at the top of the board - sorry to those who have seen it previously - if this is the first time you have seen this post, please do read on.
A lot of “ex Covs” have made known their support for, or reservations against, setting up a formal Coventry D118 Association. The decision in the end has to be made by us, and only us, so, the intention is that we have an Email vote.
Just email me here: jimahudson@tiscali.co.ukNOJUNKMAIL giving me your name and a clear statement saying whether you do or do not want an Association. Please head your Email HMS COVENTRY. Do not forget to remove the “No Junk Mail” at the end of the Email. I will close the poll at midnight on Sunday 18th May.
I will keep a tally of the voting and the emails and will post the results of the Email vote on this website on Monday the 19th of May 2008. The results will also be available at the Home Club over our weekend for those that wish to see it.
Making the decision in this way involves a majority of us, it will be quick, convenient and fair. If the vote were left to the Saturday of the get together it would not take into account the wishes of those that want their opinion heard but for a variety of reasons are unable to travel this year.
It is now over to you. Do we want a formal HMS Coventry D118 Association, with all that it will entail, or do we wish to remain as we are. Your vote will need to reach me by midnight of Sunday the 18th of May 2008 to let me know. I will repost this message from to time to keep it more or less at the top of the messages.
It is, it really is, a big decision for all of us, so please do respond one way or the other."

Best wishes
Don't know if many of you read the Navy News but the ships company of HMS Clyde should get a big "Thanks" for visiting and cleaning up the memorial at Pebble Island, and remembering those still on patrol. Cheers, Sam
Paul, any chance of the web address for the Sheff? I left her about a year before the Falklands and she has always had a special place in my heart. Always raise a glass on the 4th of May.
Sam
Cancel the last - found Shiny Sheff new site.
Any one know the web address for HMS Sheffield? I tried a couple of links from various sites but to no avail.
Best wishes to any ships company of HMS Sheffield who may come onto the site – I was thinking of the Shiny Sheff yesterday; had the honour to meet Capt Sam Salt through our skipper Capt David Hart-Dyke, in late1982 whilst at HMS Warrior.
I will always remember the 4th May 1982 (Picket Duty with Sheffield & Glasgow). I raise my glass to HMS Sheffield.
