Shipmates -Thinking of you today at 11.00 and our colleagues still on patrol - a glass was raised in their memory as will be on Tuesday about 6.00 o'clock.Hope everything went well - you certainly had the weather this time - unlike some previous re-unions i can remember.
sorry myself and the family were unable to join you this weekend but look forward to seeing you in the future.
regards and best wishes to all ex - Cov's,
Mick
(Jack) Daniels
p.s.On the ports we called in -We definitely went to Sunderland as part of STANAFORLANT - because me a Jimmy Greaves (AB -M -3Q) pulled - Jimmy and me went back down to Sunderland when we called in at Rosyth the following weekend - i only backed off when i found out her old man was in the slammer!(i think he's still after me)
Best wishes to all on the 25th, as always will be placing a wreath at our local war mamorial and raising a glass to all those still on patrol.
Sadly, I can't make the re-union this year (my mother, two brothers, sister in law and two nieces are here, to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday). About the places the Cov visited - we definately went to Fishguard during sea-trials (I have family near there). Selwyn - i have no recollection of visiting Sunderland when I was on the Cov - that was just after I left in her in March, 1981. I remember visiting Brixham and Hamburg, but not the order they came in. Kiel was also just after I left the Cov... I hope that everything goes well for the reunion ... all the best to everyone.. Kind regards
Hello lads, just a quick dit to let you know i'm well and still bouncing between Hamburg, Toulouse and UK. a few problems with an 'ash cloud' lately, sometimes having trouble getting around. Sorry, will not be able to attend this year, back to germany next week, but will be thinking of you all, and those still on patrol.
regards, keep safe

Si has managed to come up with an RM Bugeler. My Sky pilot is not available, however she is putting me in touch with some of her oppos. If it comes to nothing, then Matt Northeast has kindly offered to run the service this year.
Sky Pilot good Idea.
I hope to get down on Sunday with the boss keeping an eye on me.
All the best Pansy.
Great idea Rocky, nice touch.
I don't know if anyone has any contacts within the Bandy region, as Si Rouse is having snags getting a trumpet blower for the service. That has always been a great touch too and will be missed if we can't get one ?
See you all very soon

I remember going to Wilenshaven early in 1982.. I was grippoed by a family whose grandfather I met actually bombed the Coventry in the 2nd world war......
I also remember a trip to Tromso....
I also remember one of the AB(r)s sitting on a glass table shattering it resulting in a war wound to the A--
Good idea, Rocky. I won't be over this year unless someone can pay my airfare
I will be over for this years get together ,and remember those still on watch, good idea Rocky, sin bosu'n would be good
Reunion dit.
Folks. How do we all feel about getting a Sky Pilot along to carry out the Sunday Service? I know this has been mentioned before, but I have had two enquiries now asking if we can. Also, I have a contact who would be very happy to oblige - if we decide to ask her, and if she is available. I know she would do us a really good job, with the non-formality and friendly atmosphere that we all enjoy.
My own point of view is that I quite like the idea. A Naval Chaplain would add a nice touch, honouring our shipmates.
Can you let me know how you feel about it please, either here or by sending me an Email. Address to the left. Don't forget to remove the NO JUNK MAIL bit on the end though or it won't get through.
Regards
Rocky
Currently at home with my leg in plaster (fractured foot) unable to do much. I will see if I can follow up from the ships dry dock period in 81. That should keep me out of trouble?
