Shipmates. I'm so sad to hear of Bob Curd's passing. I remember Bob as a gentleman both on watch during the conflict and meeting him again these many years after. I also remember meeting him and his wife last year in Coventry for the reunion. We were on our way to the Royal Warks Club and him helping his wife over a small wall - he'd laid a handkerchief over it. True gentleman. I marched next to him on our way to Holy Trinity for the service and chatted. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. Always to be remembered Bob. God Bless. Chuck.
Shipmates and families
I note the post from Dave Wood re the very sad news of the passing away of our dear shipmate Bob Curd, it is indeed so upsetting to learn of this when I know Bob has always been so supportive of our reunions and keeping our Coventry community going.
As current Chairman, and on behalf of all of us, I would like to pass on our most sincere condolences and let Bob's family know that our thoughts are with them at this time of sorrow.
Bob will always be remembered.

Hi Shipmates,
It is with great sadness that I have to report the death of our Shipmate BOB CURD. He died unexpectedly on Sunday evening. I had only been chatting with him earlier in the evening, making arrangements for the forthcoming reunion. If anyone wishes to know the funeral arrangements or any other information please contact me.
Cheers for the info, I will ring Derek this week.
Can anyone help do they remember Mark Gould who served on board the HMS Coventry?
Simon, I too have spoken to Derek this afternoon, have also sent an e-mail to FVF, to register and therefore be added to the numbers attending.
See you all soon,
Stevie 'Dinger' Bell
Andy, I also have sent an email to FVF, but I have called Derek and informed him of number of tickets required, call him give him numbers and he will bring along tickets Friday, there is no link from the FVF site just two lines. Simon
Eli Can you put me down for 2 for Friday night please. Are we okay to bring car onto the island?
Chris all being well I hope to attend on the 20th May. Got tickets from Sama.
I have sent an e-mail to ther FVF but have not had a reply. I believe it was to the correct address. Just puzzled by the lack of a response.
Thank You Damien woked this time.
PS Have some old photos on my facebook if you want to use them for this site.
Shipmates et al,
Just to be clear on a few points raised in recent days:
The SAMA weekend details for the event at the national arboretum are promulgated on the SAMA website, has been for many months now. FYI I will personally attend the whole SAMA organised weekend (weekend prior to ours), along with my wife Margaret, in my capacity as Chairman of HMS Coventry D118 Association but any SAMA member can of course attend. As Berny has asked, this is not an organised Coventry Ass event but free for anyone to attend. I will be there at least but it would be great to see others at least for the Sunday morning dedication.
As for tickets to march etc on Sunday 27th May in Gosport, anyone not able to apply can pick up tickets from Derek Kimber on our own 25th May, Friday evening, but ideally the FVF would prefer all attendees register iaw the instructions put up on the re-union tab adjacent.
Hope this clears up any confusion that may exist, if not then please email me and I will assist in any way I can.

Help!
Unable to send email for tickets for Sunday 27th. Using email link from this website, but repeatedly fails. Any ideas? Only want 2 Tickets.
The Boys and Officers of the 8th Hartlepool Boys' Brigade are proud to remember our former member, Acting Cook Ian Turnbull each year at our Rememberance Parade Service. Until recently, when 'modern day conflicts' where added to the towns war memorial, the plaque in Westbourne Methodist Church was the only one in the town to commemorate Ian. On the 25th May this year we will hold a short service to remember Ian and all those who lost their lives and those who live each day with the memories of the Falkland Island Conflict.
With best wishes to you all from all at 'the8th'

Captain
8th Hartlepool Boys' Brigade
I remember at the last reunion that their was going to be a ceremony at the National Arburetum and the association was going to attend , has it been done already or is it still in the pipeline before the reunion ?
Dear Shipmates
As we draw nearer to our 30th year Anniversary gathering on Friday 25th May, I would like to draw your attention to the reunion tab which now has links to the various FVF functions on the Sat and Sunday during our weekend.
These activities are in addition to our own reunion of course and entirely up to individuals to take part. I would like to say though that I would encourage as many ex Covs as possible to register and turnout on the Sunday morning to march in Gosport as this will be quite an event and perhaps never to be repeated, your support would be much appreciated.
I am also looking for a volunteer to take on the role of Coventry Standard bearer, so please let me know if you are interested in carrying our own standard for the Sunday morning parade.
Finally, we are now over 75+ attending on Friday 25th May, this includes our partners and families, so a great turnout thus far. Please let me know if you still have not indicated your attendance as we have some small catering to deal with.
See you all soon - Yrs Aye
