Rocky could you ensure the links are updated. We had many friends on the Shiny Sheff - and shippers you are all welcome to join us for a few bevvies anytime.
"Burtos"I remember pulling some "Top German Totty"@ the main gate, have vivid memories of you in a taxi the odour of "moose milk" and "scran" filling the air, having been evacuated from your stomach,"happy days mate"
the T shirt is in vogue now in Northampton. I see it every weekend I work,we will have to work on a new design next year!!!!!!! I hope you lot are all well, look aferyourselves stay healthy.
by the way where is the Heard and McDonald Islands??
Derek, the QE2 sounds great, hope it happens because I have fond memories of that little boat - as do Higgy and Joe O'Drastic - I think they set a record in thier cabin! Rocky old shippers - thanks for doing this again. I think the 2005 reunion was great and we all loved getting together in the informal sence of the word - I never remember any of us wearing top and tails on a run ashore - Busta, remember "Keil" Denmark - the back of te taxi after drinking aboard HMCS Mackenzie, thank god I was in basically jeans and a tee shirt. The young lady I was visiting at the night club must have been really upset when I did not show up...
Yours Aye.
hi, i hope that this isn't inappropriate, but i was a member of Hoddesdon-Broxbourne carnival court which had the great fortune to be named mascot for the HMS Coventry shortly before it left for the Falklands.. I remember how graciously we were treated as we were shown around the ship, how thrilled we were to meet everyone, you really did treat us like royalty, such gentlemen each and every one..and then how terribly shocked and saddened we were to hear of the sinking... thank you for the memory of your fine ship and crew.. blessings to you all

Reunion 2006
As talked about last year, we need a proper order of service for the Sunday. Any budding Sky Pilots out there who want to write one up??
I shall be ordering the wreath again, and this time I intend putting a few dits in the paper - if that is OK with everyone.
I will post any updates as the time approaches, and I look forward to seeing you in May.
If you are in contact with anyone who is not "on line" please pass the word along.
By the way, everyone seems to be asking where Eddie Campbell is. Let's see if we can track him down and bring him along!!!
Regards
Rocky

2006 reunion. Everyone still up for it?
Meeting in the home club in Pompie, The weekend 19th-21st May.
The plan, as talked about last May, will run exactly the same as last year as this seems to suit most people.
Meetings in the Home Club on Friday evening, Saturday for a DTS, and again in the evening. Sunday for 11:00 at the Old Portsmouth Falklands War Memorial for a short service. If you have never been to one before, it would be great to see you. They are fairly informal get togethers, with people using the Home Club as a meeting point, then stroling off to town. Girlfriends and wives welcome.
Rocky
To anyone who is interested i had a message from David Hart-Dyke who advises that there is talk of a possible reunion on board The QE2 in 2007 shared with the Antelope and Ardent. If anyone hears anything please get in touch. Regards
Derek Kimber
Tiggs: Eddie was working as an Electrician in Portsmouth the last I heard - and that was back in late 82, so no idea where he is now - but there are four E.Campbells listed in the phone book for Pompey - give it a crack, I would like to know where the DSOB (Dark Son of a Bit.h is too.)
Elaine - hope you got my email, Adrian was a close friend to all of us aboard D118.
Yours Aye.
Have just come across the website.Served onboard during the conflict (Radio Op) Also had the pleasure of returning to the islands in '85 and laying a wreath at the Coventry memorial on the anniversary of the 25th(have some photo's somewhere). Hi to all that may remember me, and even those that don't.
I accessed the site for information to help with welcome speeches I give to the many military reunion visitors we host at The Britannia Hotel in Coventry. As I am 50, the story and pictures reminded me vividly of the time, and in my case the tv coverage. To all those who served, and their relatives can I send best wishes and thanks for their dedication, courage and sacrifice. It will never be forgotten.
Hi my Uncle was on HMS Coventry. His name was Adrian sunderland. I cant remember him and would just like to know some stuff about him, anything really. He was my Mums brother and I would loved to have known him. I was 3 when he died.
Thanks Elaine

Tried to add an entry after the Freedom of the Borough event back in August.(Must have been blocked or something)
It was really great to meet up with so many old faces.
Anybody who was in two minds whether to attend or not really missed out on two great events, thats the do at Sultan on the Tuesday night and the more serious stuff on the Wednesday.
Its great to have Gosport council and the Mayor on the side of the Falklands Veteran Foundation, they are doing a fantastic job.
Tony Reece if you see this get in touch I can't remember the web site we were talking about,in fact can't remember much after the Con Club.
Best wishes to all those who remember me and to those that don't.

Shippers: Thanks, and Jack - I never did do much painting, I was in the Ops room most of the time, chinagraph pencil in hand and working with CHOPS. I still like "Watch out Big F'ing Elephant coming your way." I will be in Austin Texas until the end of the week - and yes I have the grippos buying!!! They even bought me the air ticket... I think they forgot how much I enjoy a good run ashore! Still no news from Tony Windsor - Ginge could you email me his email?
Yorkie
Yorkie,
The ships motto you may already have but here it is anyway; it is โFortis Fert Securitatemโ just what it means I do not know? I will leave it to your good self to translate!
Hope all is well shippers nice to read your dittos on the site; see you next time you make it back to dear old blighty - Iโll stand you a wet or two.
Paul
Yorkie,
either the Budweiser is slowly eroding the grey matter or you didn't paint many ships crests?
Firmly etched is:
'Fortis Fert Securatem'
"Strength through unity"
correct me if i'm wrong fellow Cov's?
Regards to all
Jack
p.s. Webmaster - its great reading through all the guestbook entries, but is it possible once someone has submitted an entry to save their details in a 'Crew Log'
by surname or mess????
Yorkie, you are going to like this...
"Fortis Fert Securitatem".
(Taken from the 1980 Far East deployment book)
Fortis:
strong, brave, powerful, robust, steadfast, courageous.
fertilis:
fruitful, fertile, productive
fruitfulness.
Securitatem:
axe, hatchet, battle-axe.
Take your pick.
I like "Strong Fertile Battle axe"
It reminds me of a lady I met in Rosyth!!
The Ships motto was "Fortis Fert Securitatem" which roughly translated means Fortis Fert Securitatem, over to you experts in Latin!
Saludos a todos desde Espaรฑa, that I can translate, greetings to all from Spain.
